Suppression comes before monstrous development when the conditions improve. A small compact hurricane undergoes rapid intensification quicker than a larger sized hurricane. Currently, at 1:25 A.M. Eastern, Danny is strong and appears moving due west. I don’t see Danny dying off. I just don’t.

Danny held up well overnight…but it will be tested through this day. So much depends on its track. RI is possible if the low center survives all the way into the Gulf…if indeed it goes that way.

Levi…this is a great day to stick your neck out there! We have a great understanding of conditions in Danny’s track for five days out. Care to go a bit farther and project where it might be in 8-9 days…and what conditions it will encounter when it gets there?

We won’t make you eat crow if your off on a prediction so far out in the future. We all know how thoroughly you analyze tropical systems and quite frankly, what you’re doing is world-class.

I am so looking forward to your next briefing. I’ll be refreshing your site once every half hour this afternoon!

Looks like Danny is already feeling the long50 shear. Then he has PR and Hispaniola to deal with. Perhaps a sigh of relief for S.Fla.

As of Friday, 3PM EDT it seems that ole Danny has a little more muscle than we thought. Cat 3! BUT, those big bad upper level winds coming off SA are just ahead.

BTW, Great Job! Levi. I’ve always enjoyed your prognostications.
