Please keep giving us the tidbits. They are part of our evacuation protocol, which we’ve had to execute 4 of the last 5 years!

Danny should not have formed under a subtropical cold upper low in June. It’s the kind of system that might be expected in the fall. The water should have been too cold and the shear too strong for Danny.
Tropical waves should not be turning into tropical storms at the end of June in the tropical mid Atlantic. There should be more shear and water temperatures should be marginal at best.
Levi do you know what’s going on with temperatures in the tropical tropopause transition layer? Is it cooler than normal, destabilizing the tropical Atlantic? It’s clear that the subtropical jet stream has been displaced north of normal in both the Pacific and Atlantic, but it something else going on?
This is concerning for September when hurricane season really gets doing.
