Levi, thanks for your indepth analysis of this storm. As usual, I go to Tropical Tidbits for ANY info concerning hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. With interests in Pensacola and Louisiana i find you ALWAYS predict the storm path and intensity better than any of the “experts”.

What are your thoughts on the center reforming to the NE, around the Yucatan Channel later where the most convection will be, especially if the center stays on shore as long as forcasted. I have seen that happen there before.
I’ve been tuning in to your blog for a couple years. I really appreciate your service as I’m in Niceville FL and I need to be aware during the hurricane season. It’s interesting that I’ve never heard you refer to ‘gyre’ before.
